Shots (Immunizations)

CHOC Health Alliance provides services to help your child grow up healthy and happy. These services include shots (immunizations).

Shots are a covered benefit for CHOC Health Alliance members.

Shots are one of the best ways to help your child stay healthy. Shots help protect your child from many dangerous diseases, such as whooping cough (pertussis) and measles.

Your child will receive shots as part of a well child checkup with his or her primary care provider (PCP). Your child should receive the following shots at these ages:

1 month Hep B
2 months DTaP, Hib, IPV, PCV
4 months DTaP, Hib, IPV, PCV
6 months Hep B, DTaP, Hib, IPV, PCV, Influenza
12 months Hib, PCV, MMR, Varicella, Hep A
15 months DTaP
18 months Good time to catch up
2 years Hep A
4-6 years DTaP, IPV, MMR, Varicella*
11-12 years Td or Tdap, HPV*
Every Year Influenza (after 6 months)
Every 10 Years Td Booster after last DTaP
